Type-A: only detects AC and small pulsating DC · Type-B: additionally detects the smooth DC residual current emitted by solar inverters — using Type-A with solar can leave the breaker "blind" to real DC faults, creating a risk of electric shock or fire. IEC 62423 requires Type-B for systems that include inverters.

MTS (Manual): someone has to physically flip the switch — cheap, but if the grid fails at night or no one is home you simply wait · ATS (Automatic): switches over instantly within 200ms — food in the fridge stays cold, computers do not shut down, servers keep running · MOREDAY EKL6 is a true automatic ATS that needs no manual operation.
