Why XLPE beats PVC

No, you can't. THW/VCT cables use PVC insulation designed for indoor use and only last 2–5 years under UV. Thai sunlight will crack, brittle, and leak through them within a few years. PV cable requires XLPE cross-linked insulation (Xinhongye uses 2 layers — inner black + outer red) — UV-resistant 720h, heat-resistant to 90°C (conductor max 120°C), halogen-free — and must be certified to TÜV EN 50618 / IEC 62930 / UL 4703 PV WIRE.

PV Cable (H1Z2Z2-K): 2-layer XLPE (inner black + outer red/black) · tinned copper 78 strands × 0.30mm · -40°C to +90°C · UV-resistant · IEC 62930 / UL 4703 · 6mm² only. Battery Cable (ESP15Z3Z3-K): XLPO insulation + jacket · bare copper stranded · -40°C to +125°C (much higher heat tolerance — batteries run hot) · 2 PfG 2693 (TÜV ESS standard).

Size up by 20–30% above peak inrush.

PV cable (tinned copper): copper coated with tin — because it lives outdoors, exposed to humidity / UV / rain. Tin prevents corrosion and makes soldering MC4 connectors easier. Battery cable (bare copper): pure copper — because it lives inside a sealed battery cabinet in controlled conditions, and you need lower resistance for high currents (tinned has slightly higher resistance). Two cable types, two purposes.

AD8 is the highest water-resistance rating under IEC 60364 — meaning "permanent water immersion". Xinhongye H1Z2Z2-K passes AD8, so our PV cables can run through flooded areas, on rooftops with pooled water, or buried in damp ground without degrading. Ideal for Thailand's heavy rainfall and seasonal flooding.
